What should I bring to rehearsals?

  • Music – make sure you bring all your music every week even if it is not on the rehearsal schedule as Simon often finds time to revise all […]

Spring 2025 – Brahms German Requiem

In March 2025 (exact date to be decided), we will be singing the Brahms Requiem (in German).

This page will be updated with more details as they become available.

The Hampstead Chorus is a friendly, un-auditioned choir, based in North West London.

We offer communal music-making for all who are interested in choral singing and welcome

  • people who can sing in tune but may have little or no experience of singing in a choir
  • those who have sung in the past and would like to resume
  • experienced singers.

Our Musical Director is Simon Walton, a highly accomplished and inspirational singer and musician. He is assisted by  Ed Kemp-Luck a talented pianist and organist.

Our repertoire includes performances of many of the great choral works by, for instance, Bach, Mozart, Brahms and Verdi to name but a few. In our Autumn and Spring terms we conclude with a concert in The Great Hall of UCS where the choir is supported by a professional orchestra and soloists. We also hold lighter concerts in the summer, usually with piano accompaniment only.

The Chorus started life as the UCS Centenary Choir.  We continue to be closely associated with University College School where rehearsals and concerts take place. Members come both from within the UCS community and the wider Northwest London area.

This website provides information for singers, potential singers, audience and supporters.  Information on each term and each concert can be found on our blog posts.
