Our committee and how we are organised

Hampstead Chorus is a charitable association (UK registered charity number 1174146), which is unincorporated and run by its committee of trustees. Our constitution which governs how the choir is run can be found here .  We have three choir officers – the chair, the treasurer and the secretary.  At any time, the people holding these posts are listed on the Charities Commission website.

In addition, we have other roles held by volunteers such as membership secretary, librarian, concerts manager and IT manager. We are very grateful to many people who help us to run the choir on a day-to-day basis. We always welcome support from new volunteers.

Membership of Hampstead Chorus is determined by our Membership rules which can be found here. Members are entitled to attend and vote at HC’s general meetings. There is usually only one meeting a year- being the annual general meeting (AGM), held in or about February. The main function of the AGM is for members to consider the annual report and accounts of HC, to deal with trustees’ retirements/ resignations/elections and to discuss our outline plans for the future. Members have other membership rights such as nominating trustees and requesting the trustees to call a special general meeting.

We recently changed the basis on which singers become Members to widen our member group and this change is described here.

We are grateful to Rob Taggart for providing us with many of the wonderful photos of the choir on this website.
