Heather Tomala has been our accompanist and section rehearsal coach since 2013. Combining interests in music, theatre and languages, Heather maintains a richly varied performing and coaching career with a bias towards accompaniment and ensemble work.

Heather’s skills at the harpsichord, fortepiano, modern piano and keyboard have led to roles with the Southbank Centre, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Classical Opera Company, Monteverdi Choir & Orchestra, Handel Singing Competition, Tenebrae, Bel Canto Summer School, Trafalgar Sinfonia, West End show pits, English Pocket Opera Company, and numerous choirs and instrumental ensembles.

Heather enjoys inspiring musicians of all ages and experience levels, including as Keyboard skills & Musicianship tutor at the National Opera Studio, répétiteur for London College of Music’s Musical Theatre Department, Répétiteur and Musicianship leader for Ingenium Academy, Theory & Aural tutor for St. Paul’s School, and former Musical Awareness teaching for Junior Guildhall.

Following great curiosity in music’s overlap with science, she is a popular presenter for interactive lecture series MusicUpClose; and, off duty, a dedicated member of the Delaney Academy of Irish Dance, working towards the Diploma of the Irish Dancing Commission.
