This is what Simon had to say about our rousing performances of Dvorak Mass in D and Vaughan Williams Dona Nobis Pacem
I thought the reception we received last night was a true testament to the work we have done throughout the term. Many people in the audience told me they hadn’t heard either piece before, but were completely sold on them through your performance. I thought both pieces offered the choir a great chance to shine, in a variety of ways. The choral sound was terrific and really powerful, particularly in the moments the orchestra suddenly stopped and the forte block choir singing prevailed.  The section solos in the Dvorak also allowed each section to sing like soloists which was great fun. The Vaughan Williams was also very beautiful and powerful through its rollercoaster of emotions. Thanks for sticking with such a tricky, but hugely rewarding programme.
